Roulette is viewed by many gamblers of all social strata as a means to make quick profit. This is sadly true and the goal of profit is more prevalent in the mindset of roulette players than simply aiming to enjoy the game for what it is. Truly, the potential amounts of cash one can get in roulette is the casino game’s primary attraction, along with its alluring simplicity and straightforward mechanics.

No one can blame these roulette players for wanting to make profit at roulette. After all, most casinos present their roulette game as a gambling sport that’s easy to win, with advertisements suggesting that the player can rake in profits in his or her game. Unfortunately, roulette is a fully random game that cannot be won by skill and wit but with pure, unadulterated luck.

How Payouts in Roulette Are Calculated

While the game comes off as a simple gambling activity, the payout system can be quite complicated, and this is the reason why the process is entrusted to the house as represented by the dealer. Roulette payouts are based on the amount wagered on the table and its probability of winning. The rule is that basically, the payout decreases as the chance that the bet wins goes up, thereby making high risk bets very rewarding and the winnable ones pay what can be a rather disappointing amount. Also, all numbers in the table are counted while the zeros are left out in order to secure the house edge.

5 Best Paying Bets

Inner bets are wagers that can give the player the best roulette payouts. These bets refer to all the numbers in the table, and are called as such as they are in the “inner” portion of the roulette board as per the players’ perspective. These are the following, in order of decreasing payout:

1. Straight
Straight is a single bet on a number. It pays out the highest at 35 to 1, which basically means 35 times the amount wagered.

2. Split
This refers to a bet placed in the line between the two numbers it covers. It pays out at 17 to 1, the second highest in roulette.

3. Street
This bet covers an entire row of three numbers, and is placed at the edge corresponding to the numbers under its coverage. Street pays at 11 to 1.

4. Basket
This also covers three numbers, but can only be made in the first line and the zeros. The bet is placed on a point that effectively covers at least one zero and at least one number from the first row. This pays the same as the street bet.

5. Corner
Corner bets cover a block of four numbers, and are placed at the intersection between the selected betting spaces, paying out at 8 to 1.

These are the five best bets in the casino game roulette. As mentioned earlier however, high possible winnings and the actual probability of winning don’t go hand in hand, and thus, these bets carry a very high risk of losing. This makes these bets a lot more rewarding though, especially if you managed to make a hit early on.
